2019: Why I Want To Represent Onitsha At Green Chamber

2019: Why I Want To Represent Onitsha At Green Chamber – Hon. Enwezor
As the 2019 general elections gather momentum, member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha I Constituency, Honourable (Barrister) Chugbo Enwezor, who has earlier indicated his interest to represent Onitsha North/Onitsha South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has given his reasons for aspiring towards the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
Speaking to newsmen recently in a public function in Onitsha, the commercial nerve centre of Anambra State, Enwezor, the Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, said that the urge to offer adequate representation informed his decision to contest.
He said that the national assembly is a place where issues affecting the constituencies and states are discussed and debated. Representation at the national assembly, he said, is issue-driven.
“The trending issues today at the national assembly are the issues of true federalism such as revenue derivation formula, the issue of restructuring, power sharing, among other pressing issues. These issues are beneficial not only to Onitsha Federal Constituency or Anambra State but also the entire Igbo race.
“The federal system of government as we are running is based on the equality of the component parts. As we speak, there is no equality because the South-East is cheated; so, we must have to equilibrate the system and the component parts so that Nigeria can really move forward.
