Governor Obiano Marks Mothering Sunday with 86-year-old Mrs Odili

For 86-year-old Iyom Maria Odili, this year’s Mothering Sunday came wrapped in a shimmering foil. It fell on her birthday. It was a double celebration and so, it deserved a gold topping.

Well, Iyom Odili didn’t have to worry much about who would put a dazzling sparkle to her day. The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano was on hand to squeeze in the precious touch that was needed.

It was delightful to see Iyom Odili’s face crinkle with an ethereal smile when she welcomed the Governor to her Special birthday Thanksgiving Mass at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Aguleri. It was obvious that she felt honoured and re-assured that she mattered to her state.

As it turned out, many dignitaries including some members of the Anambra State Executive Council and the traditional ruler of Aguleri, Igwe Christopher Idigo and his wife also turned up at St Joseph’s to felicitate with Mrs Odili and her son Primus who is the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
